Dr. Robert Cassell specializes in oncology and hematology.  He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his Doctor of Medicine from Duke University School of Medicine.  Dr. Cassell also earned a Doctor of Philosophy in biochemistry from Duke University Graduate School.  He completed his internal medicine internship and residency, followed by a hematology and oncology fellowship, at Emory University School of Medicine.  After practicing Oncology in Polk County for over 30 years, Dr. Cassell joined BayCare Medical Group in February 2015.

Dr. Cassell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, with certification in medicine and medical oncology.  He was President of the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology and the Polk County Medical Association.  Dr. Cassell’s clinical interests include general oncology and hematology.
