Dennis R. Laffer, MD

Dr. Dennis R. Laffer is dual Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.  He earned his Bachelor of Science, Zoology with High Honors at Michigan State University in Lansing and his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Michigan School of Medicine in Ann Arbor.  He served an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Internal Medicine at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, and completed a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. 

Dr. Laffer has over twenty-five years of clinical experience in office based and inpatient gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopy.  He has been practicing in the Tampa Bay area since 1982 and has served as Chief of Gastroenterology at Tampa General Hospital and at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  Dr. Laffer has a special interest in Chronic Hepatitis C, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and Colorectal Polyps and Cancer.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of the American College of Physicians, American Gastroenterological Association, Florida Gastroenterological Society, Florida Medical Association, and the Hillsborough County Medical Association.
