Luis Martinez, MD, FACS, FAAP

Dr. Luis Martinez is Board Certified in Surgery and Pediatric Surgery.  He received his undergraduate degree from Colegio San Jose in Asuncion, Paraguay and earned his Doctor in Medicine and Surgery from Universidad Nacional De Asuncion.  He also earned a Masters in Healthcare Systems from the University of Denver in Colorado.  Dr. Martinez completed a rotating internship and Junior Surgery residency at the Hospital de Clinicas through the University of Asuncion and a rotating internship at The Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut.  He served a General Surgery residency at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center-University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Hartford.  He also served a Thoracic-Cardiovascular Surgery Fellowship at Presbyterian-University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia and a Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Denver, in Colorado.  Dr. Martinez is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Pediatric Surgical Association, Pacific Association of Pediatric Surgeons, Pan-American Association of Pediatric Surgeons, Tampa Bay Surgical Society, and the Tampa Bay Latin American Medical Society.
