Ovidio Mendez, MD

Dr. Ovidio Mendez is Board Certified in Pediatrics. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Florida in Jacksonville. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. He completed his internship and residency at University Hospital of Jacksonville in Florida. Dr. Mendez has served on the Executive Board of the Hillsborough County Pediatric Society since 1979 and has been Chief of Pediatrics at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida since 1994. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He also holds membership in the Florida Pediatric Society, Hillsborough County Pediatric Society, St. Joseph’s Physician’s Association and the University of Florida at Jacksonville Pediatric Alumni Association, of which he was a Founding Member and President from 1990-1993.
